Today’s edition focuses on two main stories on The Daily Tar Heel’s front page. First the beginning of basketball season and UNC’s narrow victory against Davidson at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Nick and I were glad to see the Tar Heels squeak out a win and are hopeful that this hiccup is a harbinger of good things to come. Remember that Roy’s boys lost the season opener to Santa Clara and went on to win the National Championship in 2005. Also on our radar was a construction accident on UNC’s campus. DTH reporters were quick to rush to the scene and Managing Edtior Allison Nichols tells us how they got the story. This is only our second try at this video project, and we’re already experimenting. Today we saw that the Carolina Union Activities Board was hosting a Thanksgiving arts and crafts session in the Gallery. You can enjoy the hats that we made as Nick thanked a freshman for making UNC what it is and lauded CUAB leaders for their efforts in bettering the student experience. I also recommend reading the following stories: UNC tries to get rid of spam. Thank goodness. If only it’ll work. I’m tired of people trying to enlarge me. Two stories focus on tuition, which we focused on Wednesday and will round out Friday. The DTH brings you stories with a national and campus tilt. I also enjoyed Diversions’ look at Raleigh’s country music scene. Give it a hoot, holler and look see. -Joe
